Bob Williams, founder of Red Oak Renovations, has been a builder since childhood when he and his brother Dave built backyard forts in Rochester, New York.
Bob lived on Dave's tugboat for two summers while Bob was earning his MBA at the Simon School of Business and Dave was a lawyer. They gradually retrofitted Dave’s 26-foot tugboat into a house boat.
"Working on the tug taught me how to solve design-and-build problems. When we encountered a problem on the tug, and there were many, I learned to view them as challenges. I looked forward to coming up with a creative approach," Bob said.
"The tug gave me a can-do attitude towards construction. If I can't already do it, I know how to figure out how I can," Bob said.
Reliable Bob and two crew members have a Massachusetts construction supervisor license. As a licensed contractor, Bob and his crew know the state building code. Red Oak Renovations is fully insured and carries worker's compensation insurance for all crew members.
